What counts as “environmental hazards” near a home?
People use this phrase to mean a mix of long-term exposure indicators and proximity to sources that can affect air quality over time.
AirScore summarizes the most practical signals in one score so you can compare addresses without doing hours of research.
What AirScore can show (and what it can’t)
AirScore provides context using public datasets and modeled indicators—like long-term PM2.5 exposure,
proximity to industrial emitters, hazardous site registries, airports, and major highways—plus live AQI for right-now conditions.
AirScore isn’t a “yes/no safety verdict” and can’t capture every local factor (wind patterns, indoor air, building envelope, etc.).
Use it as a screening tool, especially when you’re choosing between multiple places.
How to use this page (simple + practical)
- Run 3–5 addresses you’re considering (not just one).
- Compare what drives the score (PM2.5 vs proximity vs traffic exposure).
- Use the nearby facility/site names (when available) for targeted follow-up research.
