What is ethylene oxide (EtO)?
EtO is a reactive chemical used to sterilize certain medical products and in some manufacturing processes.
It’s also a known health concern at long-term exposure levels — which is why communities pay attention when it’s present nearby.
What AirScore can show (and what it can’t)
AirScore helps you identify nearby facilities and pollution sources using public datasets
(like industrial emitters and other hazard sites), along with long-term PM2.5 and live AQI context.
AirScore does not claim a specific facility is releasing EtO unless that chemical attribution
is explicitly verified through public reporting. Many facilities report multiple chemicals, so proximity is best used
as a signal for smarter follow-up, especially when comparing addresses.
How to use this page (simple + practical)
- Run 2–3 addresses you’re considering (not just one).
- Compare patterns: industrial proximity + PM2.5 + traffic is often more telling than any single data point.
- If you see nearby emitters, use the facility name list in your report to do targeted follow-up research.
